You will be picked up from your hotel between 1:00 and 1:30pm and head to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas where you will meet your guide.
Your guided tour starts with a walk through Cusco’s historic center with its ancient Inca streets, heading towards Qoricancha, the “Temple of the Sun” (entrance 10 Nuevo Soles), one of the most popular examples for the clash between Inca culture and colonial Catholicism. Outside ofQoricancha, a bus will be waiting to bring you out of the city to the outskirts of Cusco to visit the archaeological zone with some truly unbelievable and well preserved Inca ruins, one of them being the fortress of Sacsayhuaman with incredibly huge stone walls. From Sacsayhuaman you continue to the water temple Tambomachay, the small ruins of PukaPukara and eventually the ceremonial center of Qenqo. You return to the city center by bus where you arrive at around 6:30pm.
INFORMATION: CUSCO TOURIST TICKET
To enter the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, PukaPukara and Tambomachay you have to purchase Cusco’s Tourist Ticket BOLETO TURISTICO. There are two options:
- BOLETO TURISTICO GENERAL:A full tourist ticket costs 130 Soles(70 Soles for students with a valid ISIC card). The ticket is valid for 10 days and allows entry to the majority of the Inca sites around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. This is the best option if you plan to visit the Inca ruins of Cusco (Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, PukaPukara, Tambomachay), muesums in Cusco and other Inca sites in the Valley (such as Moray, Tipon and Pikillaqta).
- BOLETO TURISTICO PARCIAL: The partial ticket costs 70 Soles (no student discount available) and is valid for 1 day and will only allow entry to all of the sites on the Sacred Valley Tour.
